Executive Board of Directors
UTEC’s Board of Directors is a diverse and dedicated group of Greater Lowell residents. Our Board of Directors includes youth members, business leaders, and community advocates. The Board sets organizational policy, provides fiscal oversight, supports fundraising efforts, evaluates the Executive Director, and serves as ambassadors for UTEC’s mission.
UTEC lost our beloved, founding Board President, Steve Pearlswig, on February 27, 2009. Through his involvement in the Lowell Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA), Steve was integrally involved in the establishent of UTEC from Day One. He was the true leader of a partnership between the DNA, the City of Lowell's Streetworker Program (representing various youth leaders in the City), St. Anne's Church (where UTEC was first located), and Community Teamwork (UTEC's fiscal sponsor during our first 5 years). Although he served as UTEC's founding Board President during our first 10 years, Steve's impact within UTEC was much more than this one role. He was a caring, loyal, passionate, and deeply dedicated friend and mentor to staff and teens in our agency. We continue to miss him, appreciate him, and will always honor and tribute his legacy through UTEC.
