Lowell Teens Push 'Vote 17' With New Vigor - 06.29.12

BOSTON -- A bill to allow 17-year-olds to vote in Lowell elections has passed Secretary of State William Galvin's legal muster, dramatically improving its chances of coming up for a vote before the end of this year's legislative session.

Organizers of the effort to lower the city's voting age tweaked the bill's language, after Galvin dealt the campaign a blow last September by ruling the petition unconstitutional.
